December is when credit card value either gets captured or expires. Annual and semiannual credits that don't reset until January vanish at midnight on December 31. If you haven't run through your year-end credit checklist by mid-December, you're probably about to give some of this back. What Expires December 31st Calendar-year credits you need to use now Amex Platinum Airline Fee Credit: $200 for incidental fees on your selected airline. If you haven't used this yet, book seat upgrades, checked bags, or in-flight purchases before December 31. This resets January 1. Amex Platinum Digital Entertainment Credit: The December $25 credit must trigger before December 31. If it's on auto-pay and charging monthly, you're covered.
